The free programs will allow local youth ages 9-16 to come together and learn healthy outlets for handling mental health struggles. Young artists will be educated on ways to find and utilize resources related to mental health, workplaces, and support. Each session will offer endless opportunities to celebrate the artist talents of youths across the city.
The summer program, which is held in collaboration with the Sudbury Workers Education and Advocacy Centre, will run every Saturday from 12-3 p.m. from July 30 to Aug. 27 at the Sudbury Workers Centre downtown at 109 Elm St., Suite 209. Art supplies will be provided, as well as Nigerian Jollof rice and soft drinks.
The final session will include a Youth Art Show, where artists can display their work.
Only 15 spaces are available for each session. Interested youth are encouraged to register at bit.ly/Craft4MentalHealth for their preferred session in advance.
